Can I Get Some Support Over Here?

If you want to say goodbye to back pain, a lumbar support pillow will give you much needed relief. It will also soothe tired muscles and protect you from back strain. There are a lot of different styles and sizes from which to choose from and they are ideal to use at home, at the office and when you travel. Their size makes them easy to slip into a suitcase or even a briefcase. If you sit for long periods of time with your job or even at home while watching television or working at the computer, a lumbar support pillow can offer a world of difference for your back. Most of these pillows can be used horizontally or vertically. These pillows have many benefits:
They reduce upper and lower back pain and tension. A lumbar support pillow is designed to mold to your upper or lower back providing firm support that will help maintain spinal alignment.
They offer back and posture support. The support these pillows give will relieve pressure on nerves and muscles in your back that can become inflamed and painful.
They offer therapeutic relief for aches and pains. Many of these support pillows not only relieve back pain and muscle soreness and stiffness, but they can also alleviate pain associated with back injury and chronic conditions such as arthritis, fibromyalgia and scoliosis.
Many lumbar support pillows can be used hot or cold and include FDA-approved heating and cooling elements that require no batteries or plug ins. This type of pillow is a little more expensive that most others and will cost you somewhere around seventy-five dollars, but this is a great style to have available. This style was actually first developed for students at a major university to help them maintain alertness, posture and productivity during long hours that they would spend studying. Many collegiate coaches are finding that these pillows are perfect for their players’ sore muscles and the players use them during post-game travel on a plane or a bus.
Pain free commutes. A lumbar support pillow not only works well for athletic players but they are wonderful if you have to endure a long commute for your job. Even a half-hour or an hour commute can be used to revitalize yourself if you are using one of these pillows.
It is a good idea to look for a retailer that offers a money-back guarantee. You will be assured that this is a company that stands behind their product. If you check around online, you will see that many retailers also offer free shipping. If you are looking to get relief today from back pain, tension or muscle stiffness and soreness, a lumbar support pillow will turn an uncomfortable office chair or car seat or travel seat into a chair that will give you much needed relief and support.
When Should You Try Chiropractic?

When most people suffer some kind of an ache or pain, the most common treatment of choice is medicine. Be it an over the counter drug (such as Tylenol, Motrin or Aleve), or even a prescription strength drug (such as muscle relaxers or even narcotic strength pain killers), drugs have long been the most common treatment choice for many pain syndromes.
But when does it make sense to see a chiropractor? And is chiropractic care effective and safe for the treatment of back pain, neck pain, headaches, fibromyalgia, sprain/strain injuries and other musculoskeletal conditions?
According to published scientific research, chiropractic has been proven to be a safe and highly effective treatment for musculoskeletal problems. It is non-toxic, non-invasive and all natural. So why don’t more people go to a chiropractor? There are many reasons, but the most common one is that most people simply don’t think about it. We’re constantly being exposed to drug ads (on the TV, on the radio and in every magazine and newspaper). And with all this exposure to drug ad after drug ad, it seems natural that medications would be at the forefront of our minds. The pharmaceutical industry is certainly banking on it!
Whenever you have a problem, and it doesn’t matter what the problem is (be it with your car, your house, your teeth…even your spine), it makes sense to always try the most conservative, gentle and non-invasive approach first and THEN gradually work your way up the ladder with progressively more involved treatment approaches. If you think about it, chiropractic care is the gentlest and most non-invasive thing you could possibly try. Why? Because it doesn’t involve ingesting any toxic chemicals (drugs) which then need to be metabolized out of the body by way of the liver and kidneys (thus stressing those organs). It’s non-invasive and doesn’t involve cutting into the body or anesthesia (ala surgery). What’s involved is gently slipping the vertebrae back into place (where they should be, thus taking pressure off the nerves). What could possibly be gentler than that?
There is a time and a place for all therapies. There is a time for chiropractic, drugs and surgery. The first thing you should try is chiropractic (along with physical therapy and massage therapy). If those approaches don’t work THEN it’s appropriate to go to the next most invasive therapy, which would be drugs. And if the drugs don’t work, then you should consult with a surgeon (as a last resort).
So try chiropractic first. You’ve got nothing to loose but the pain!
