It’s such a common problem for our generation that back pain has been researched in depth over the past 100 years, but one thing that stands out is that we keep going back to the basics for a true cure! But can what we eat really effect back pain?
Aside from actual injuries, back pain is typically born as a result of stress that builds in the body bringing with it physical imbalances which lead to irritation in the ligaments, to nerves and also your joints. This stress originates from 3 main areas, physical, chemical and emotional, so a poor diet which ruins the chemical balance has the potential to cause or increase unwanted pain in the back.

If you aim is to reduce back pain through a balanced diet it’s obvious that you should try to eat a variety of mostly fresh foods with an emphasis on good old fashioned fruit, vegetables, nuts and grains with lean meats and fish being a great source . Unfortunately the snacking in between meals is detrimental unless it’s very, very healthy, and a common rule to stick to religiously is to never miss your breakfast.
An average person doesn’t eat a huge amount of food each day, so it is important that what you do consume is high in nutrition, and any supplements should ideally be consumed in their most natural form such as organic whole foods, as your body will be more capable of accepting them into its system.
