Sciatic Nerve Therapy
Posted by admin in Prescription Pain Killers on June 10th, 2009
Sciatic nerve therapy can gradually eliminate the sensations of tingling, cramping, stinging or shooting pain in your legs and your buttocks, associated with sciatica, the condition in which the sciatic nerve that runs from your lower spine down to your legs, is irritated or inflamed.
Sciatic nerve therapy typically involves a regimen that consists of one or more of the following:
- Massage - Trigger point massaging can relieve tension in the muscles surrounding the sciatic nerve. By relaxing these muscles, you can oftentimes feel immediate relief. In many cases, it is possible for you to perform trigger point massage by yourself using your own hands, if a partner is not available.
- Acupressure - Similar to trigger point massaging, acupressure identifies key points along your spine to apply pressure. The difference between trigger point massage and acupressure is that with the latter, you are applying point-pressure spot-on, whereas massage involves continuous motion of the fingers or hands along a defined area.
- Low-impact aerobic exercise - such as walking or swimming.
- Stretching - Stretching, like massage, releases tension in the muscles, causing them to loosen up.
Sciatic nerve therapy can be practiced at home either by yourself or with a partner’s help, saving yourself from the unnecessary costs associated with visiting a doctor, chiropractor or massage therapist.
I once suffered with severe sciatica and was able to cure it myself naturally within 24 hours, without having to spend a single dime on a doctor, chiropractor, or massage therapist. All I did was follow some simple and easy-to-follow self-therapy techniques techniques.
